The third album from Bad Dream Fancy Dress takes them into darker territory. Blonde on Goth features 21 original tracks designed to be experienced together, homage to Bob Dylan’s first double Album Blonde on Blonde. The album explores both political and personal relationship themes, harking back to a time in the 1980s when guitars and keyboards occupied the same sound scape. Crafted pop songs, sometimes leaning towards rock and punk, sometimes towards industrial jazz and farmhouse funk, it's a unique sound, powerful, melodic and energized. To paraphrase Forrest Gump, ‘Blonde on Goth’ is ‘like a box of chocolates you’re never certain what flavour you’re going to get’, but you always get Cat Rees’s powerful vocals, female attitude and her sly, dark sense of humour.
